Every second grade student at  Harris Park Elementary is riding pretty these days, thanks to the non-profit group Wish for Wheels.

On Thursday, September 14, Wish for Wheels partnered with volunteers from AMP Robotics to assemble bikes that were then handed out to the students.

The second graders at Harris Park Elementary walked outside, some waving their hands in the air, others trying to keep their composure full of excitement when they realized one of those bikes belonged to them.

“It’s been such a fulfilling experience, I can’t wait to see the kids’ reactions,” said AMP volunteer, Beth Dec.

It was quite the day for  parents too, many who came to watch  their students receive their brand new bikes and experience the joy and the lessons that come  with helping others.

Ivy Ryan, a parent of a student at Harris Park added, “It was phenomenal, to see all of the kids’ faces and honestly all the parents, it was quite amazing. I can’t thank this foundation enough to make her dreams come true.”
