Kelia Zigich

Build & Give Specialist

Kelia is a new member to the Build/Give Team at Wish for Wheels. She finds joy in helping others and hopes to motivate teams to create strong relationships while working towards a common goal. She enjoys finding creative new challenges and engaging activities to make bike building fun.

Kelia grew up in Golden and remembers riding her bike to the pool, summer jobs and friends’ houses all year long. While at college in Boulder, she found biking more efficient than driving a car or taking the bus. She participated in a bike-building volunteer program at Community Cycles, where she learned bike mechanical skills and gained self-reliance.

For the past ten years Kelia has worked with youth athletics; mountain biking, swim teams and primarily ski racing in Boulder, Vail and now Loveland, Colorado. She is currently ski coaching at Loveland Ski Club and is an Alpine Representative for the Regional Board of Directors in the Rocky Mountain Division of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association. This group helps fundraise and allocate funds to youth ski development programs in the region. She has also worked several years with the Winter Park sit-ski program at the NSCD (National Sports Center for the Disabled) where they hope to redefine adaptive outdoor experiences.

Kelia’s goal is to encourage others to be adventurous, creative and kind. She understands the financial and geographic barriers that inhibit access to sports and recreation, but also knows how important these outlets are for children to build self-esteem and a sense of belonging. She hopes that by involving the wider community through WFW we can make biking more accessible and enjoyable for all!
